    You are visiting the official site of the Montezuma Police Department. The department has been an accredited law enforcement agency since 2005. The Montezuma Police Department is lead by Chief Eric R. Finch and currently employs 26 employees, ranging from the Chief Of Police to the School Crossing Guard. The Montezuma Police Department became a member of one of the largest E911 Centers in Southwest United States, located in Ellaville, Georgia, in 2006. The city is located within Macon County. 

    The mission of the Montezuma Police Department is to deter crime, apprehend criminals, maintain strong police-community relations, and to continually enhance the training and expertise of each member of the police force. The department strives to instill and maintain the public's confidence in the agency by maintaining a high degree of professionalism, dedication, and expertise in development of police service. 



The goals of the department are to:
 
Identify criminal activity, pursue and apprehend criminals, and proceed in the prosecution of known offenders;

To maintain a proactive patrol and investigation force and thus reduce the opportunity to commit a crime; and

To facilitate the movement of people and vehicles through analysis and commitment of selective traffic enforcement.

Montezuma Police Department was awarded the Dr. Curtis McClung Award Of Excellence in 2004.
